Scrap cables are sorted by type and stored separately. Cables containing copper are fed into a multi-stage shredder, which processes the material into copper and plastic granules.

Processing the resulting dust fraction using a wet table yields residual copper and plastic granules.

Copper granules are supplied to copper smelters for refining or to semi-finished product plants for further processing.

Plastic granules are reused as a raw material for the manufacture of warning beacons, lawn pavers, flower pots and similar products.
